You Don’t Have To Be Strong For God To Stick By You
God is here for us through thick and thin; in good times and bad. So it’s okay to be vulnerable, let down your walls, and open your heart to Him always.
Faith isn’t always found on the mountaintops. Sometimes it is found in the valleys — in the seasons of life when your soul feels tired, when prayer feels heavy, when God feels distant, and when even reaching for him feels like too much. We don’t always admit it, but these moments are real, they are human. You want closeness, you want to trust in your faith, and yet grief, or anxiety, or exhaustion make it hard to show up the way you think you should, the way you deeply want to.

But God has never asked you to be endlessly strong. He has never expected constant tenderness or perfect devotion from those he loves. He knows your limits. He sees your humanity. And his grace isn’t tied to your energy or to your effort.
Some of the most honest prayers are the simplest ones whispered from a tired heart:
“God, stay close to me when I don’t have the strength to stay close to you.”
That’s enough. Because closeness with God isn’t something you achieve, it is something He holds. Meaning even when you feel distant, he is not. Even when your faith feels dim, his love stays rooted. Even when you don’t have the words, he understands the ache beneath your silence.
So let this be your prayer today:
“God, stay near when I am tired. Hold me when I feel weak. Remind me that your love is given by grace, not earned by strength.”
God’s nearness doesn’t fade when yours does. He stays patient, and gentle, and in the most unwavering way, until your strength returns. Sometimes the holiest thing you can do is simply just let him carry you. Because even when you feel far away, He has never left your side.
